Urban Strategies played an important role in the Urban Land Institute’s Spring Meeting, held in Toronto May 14-16, 2023 as Gold Sponsors, leaders, presenters, and delegates.
Cyndi Rottenberg-Walker was Host Committee Co-Chair of this international conference, which welcomed over 4800 participants – the largest number in ULI Spring Meeting history and a reflection of how keen participants were to see and learn about all that is going on in this great city of ours. The program featured a record number of tours – with over 30 unique experiences offered over the course of the conference, with Strategist Christine Fang-Denissov playing a key programming role as Co-Chair of the Tours Working Group.
Strategists led tours of many of our transformative projects by bike, bus, subway, and foot, in addition to tours of some of the city’s new parks, urban campuses, ravine systems, mall revitalization projects, and historical themes like Jane Jacobs’ Toronto, and Yorkville: From Hippies to High Society.
Strategists appeared on panels including Housing Affordability: Success Is in the “Mix”, and Arrival City: Building North America’s Most Diverse City. We participated in and led many discussions with Product Councils.
We were privileged to sponsor the Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) Curated Conversations event and host a half-day ULI-adjacent event for the Women’s Development Collaborative, which included tours of our Waterworks and Alexandra Park projects, and featured discussion on our work at ʔəy̓alməxw/Iy̓álmexw Jericho Lands and Jane Finch Mall.
