Josh Kohler
Josh is a Planner with experience managing diverse projects, including institutional and private sector master plans, development approvals, local and regional community engagement, transit station area planning, and infrastructure and public realm master planning. This experience allows him to bring a strategic approach to navigating complex master planning and development approval processes, providing clear recommendations that allow land owners to realize the full potential of their assets, while balancing competing priorities and finding solutions to achieve required approvals and implementation. Josh has experience working on projects in Ontario and British Columbia, and is familiar with the intricacies of working in different planning jurisdictions. He continues to manage Urban Strategies’ work for a number of healthcare institutions, including SickKids, Sunnybrook Hospital, Scarborough Health Network, and Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare. He is also leading approvals for the phased redevelopment of the 28 acre former Christie Cookie factory at Park Lawn and Lake Shore in Toronto, which will introduce a new GO Transit station, TTC improvements, and a range of new mixed use buildings including 7500 residential units and over 1 million square feet of commercial and community uses. This repositions the site as a vibrant, transit-oriented community node for Toronto’s Humber Bay Shores neighbourhood.
