Sara Eng
Sara is an Urban Planner with a background in transit-oriented planning, policy research, geographic information science (GIS), and urban design. Her research background focused on the development of transit-oriented communities by analyzing unique challenges various sized cities face, and identifying opportunities for equitable revitalization.
Sara has worked on a range of private and public sector projects at Urban Strategies with a focus on complex large scale master plans. She is currently working on the revitalization of Ontario Place where she helped with the Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment submission package, by producing a comprehensive Planning Rationale in coordination with a multi-disciplinary team of consultants. She has assisted in the coordination of a robust public consultation series and continues to actively engage with stakeholders to refine the design of Ontario Place to represent Provincial and Municipal interests. She is the project manager for the Canada Square redevelopment, a plan which incorporates the values of residents and opens up retail, office, community and residential uses for newcomers. Her role is to move the application through a collaborative process with the City of Toronto and residents of Midtown Toronto. Sara has worked on infill multi-use developments, prepared development feasibility studies, and drafted due diligence and highest and best use reports. Sara approaches each project with an eye to understanding the local constraints and identifying opportunities to shape vibrant and sustainable neighbourhoods for everyone.
