Urban Strategies has managed the disposition of a major City-owned site in London, Ontario, formerly home to the iconic Old Victoria Hospital. The 5.2-hectare site is located on the banks of the Thames River in London’s SoHo (South of Horton) neighbourhood. Located immediately southeast of downtown, the site represents a tremendous redevelopment opportunity, and it also contains several heritage buildings that will provide the basis for unique place-making and adaptive re-use.
Urban Strategies has worked closely with the City of London to prepare a land disposition strategy for the site. Key tasks have included developing REOI/RFP documents, providing advice on how the site should be redeveloped consistent with the City’s planning and urban design objectives, and the review and evaluation of third-party proposals.
