Urban Strategies has been retained by General Motors of Canada Company (GM Canada) to lead a consultant team for the redevelopment of 721 Eastern Avenue. The Site will be developed as a multi-use property to include the the Toronto GM Mobility Campus at the south end fronting on Lake Shore Blvd. and creating two large development blocks along Eastern Avenue. The Toronto GM Mobility Campus will act as a multi-use facility comprised of office space, research and development facilities, GM vehicle sales and service, and a public education space to explore the latest in mobility innovations. When combined with the development opportunities on the northern blocks, this project ensures the entire site is secured as a long-term employment generator for the immediate community and the broader City. Urban Strategies prepared a Planning Rationale, public consultation strategy and by-law amendment text in support of the proposed zoning by-law amendment and plan of subdivision applications. Urban Strategies will continue working with GM Canada throughout the planning approvals process. Urban Strategies also created a project website to house the application information – www.721eastern.ca
